Refuge, Disorder, Displacement

Palestine Refugee Camps - As a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Palestine refugees were forced and ousted from their home country. Those who were residents between June 1946 - May 1948 were denied return despite UN Resolution 194. Currently, refugee camps are located in 59 designated sites within Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The population has grown to more than 4.9 million (2009).
