Compromise, Disregarding, Nothingness
The Antarctic Treaty of 1959 (official site: http://www.ats.aq/seleccion.htm) was established "in the interest of all mankind that Antarctica shall continue for ever to be used exclusively for peaceful purposes and shall not become the scene or object of international discord." It is a space of compromise as none of the claims are regarded as enforceable, a fact that is especially noticeable at points where claim borders overlap, or spots where countries have established research stations within the claims of others.
